Development of training modules

During the Maputo DQAF review meeting (5-6 June 2012) workshop , country representatives demonstrated a keen interest to contribute to the DQAF Wiki contents in particular by populating it with existing training materials relevant to the discussed capacity building topics.

This page centralises all relevant existing materials that have been proposed to be considered for the possible development of training materials in relation to the identified capacity building topics.


Education finance statistics

Financing is a central component of a modern planning process that takes account of trade-off issues and aims to define serious plans for the development of education system. Education is often under more than one ministry or agency, then it’s difficult to collect and merge education expenditure in a comprehensive manner. DQAF reports showed problems to produce financial data on Education.

Data Analysis

Methodology for data reconciliation of different data sources

The purpose of this module is to define of a framework for comparison indicators produced by household surveys and school census and to develop a dialog between the ministry of education and the national bureau of statistics.

Methodology for data cleaning

Response rate publication is a quality factor. This module will be focused on methodology to track of non‐response, track inconsistency errors and impute missing data and documentation.

Publication release and dissemination strategy

Published and disseminated data should meet users’needs in terms of relevance, timeliness, accuracy, comprehensive, coherence, etc.

School records management system

A school record has mainly 2 functions which are to give a clear picture of the schhol and also the justification of the needs. If the school register exists in some countries, the format should be improved and its utilization should be standardized. In addition for example in Malawi or Swaziland and it’s not used to fill the annual school census.

Data collection processes at different levels of decentralisation and documentation

If data collection is a routine exercise in most of the country, this exercise must be improved and extended to all subsectors (preprimary, TVET, High education) and well documented in order to improve data quality.
